She didn't carry bombs. She carried secrets.

The U-2 was built for one purpose: to fly higher than any threat could reach and photograph what no one was supposed to see. In the tense silence of the Cold War, that mission mattered more than almost anything happening at ground level.

Designed by Kelly Johnson's legendary Skunk Works team at Lockheed, the U-2 was a study in contradiction — a jet-powered glider, fragile and ferocious, elegant and unforgiving. Pilots who flew her earned a reputation for toughness. Landing the Dragon Lady demands total concentration and full-body effort — cable-driven controls, no automation to save you, a plane that fights you all the way to the runway.

The Air Force gave her the name "Dragon Lady" in 1957, drawn from the ruthless, elusive villain in Milton Caniff's comic strip Terry and the Pirates. She earned it. When a U-2 photographed Soviet missile installations being assembled in Cuba in October 1962, the images it brought home put the world on the edge of nuclear war — and gave American leadership the intelligence to pull it back.

She's still flying. Still classified. Still the Dragon Lady.

This pint glass is for the aviation enthusiasts who know that the most important missions were the ones nobody talked about. Every time you pour a cold one, you're raising a glass to the pilots who flew alone at the edge of space — and came back carrying history.

This is part of our aviation tribute glassware collection. If you're collecting pieces that honor the aircraft and aviators who wrote history, this belongs on your shelf next to the Lt. Col. Lamb, Lt. Col. Stewart, and Memphis Belle glasses.

16 oz shaker pint glass. Hand-wash only, not microwave safe. Each glass is handmade, so slight variations in the glass are part of the craft.
